It always is a wonder to me how people find smoking fascinating. I always thought it was more than that. There are reasons that people throw at me and some of them, no matter how sensible they think it is; doesn’t seem to appeal to my interest. Thus, I’ve never smoked a stick in my entire life and I’m proud to say it. I know for a fact that smoking is never good to a person’s body but I never think ill of people who smoke. Just because a person smokes, doesn’t mean that there is nothing good about them any longer. A better way to let these people know that they are special as everyone else is to help them quit their smoking habit. Smoking is never healthy for anybody. Even the companies that manufacture cigarettes and tobaccos still give emphasis through a disclaimer that smoking is never good for anyone’s health. To set the record straight, smoking develops later on to a serious lung disease called lung cancer. If this doesn’t alarm any bell, nothing will and smoking will never be removed from your system. Being addicted to smoking has negative effects already to your body, how more so, the act of smoking itself? The two are different, in a way that being addicted to smoking is already the after effect of it and yet, being addicted to it still has its own sub-categories of disadvantages. As for the act of smoking, it leads to ailments that are purely caused by the act itself. If you value your health while you are young, you will never have to worry about any regrets in your later years. Smoking doesn’t only affect the lungs; but it also has negative effects to other parts of the body. An extremely scary fact is that, smoking has a tremendous effect on the skeletal system. The bones make our every movement possible but slowly, it increases the risk of fracture while decreasing bone density and the body’s rate of natural way to heal itself. Smoking brings about so many negative effects physically. Help a friend from acquiring a grave sickness in the future.

How Meditation Can Change Your Life
Current research estimates that the average person has over 60,000 thoughts per day, 90 percent of which are replications of our thoughts from yesterday. Moreover, people spend almost half their time worrying, and 90 percent of those worries never come true. On the other hand, most of us can remember those glorious moments when we experienced unbound love, sparks of wisdom and understanding; the moments when we felt total harmony with the world around us and harmony within ourselves. If we could only manage our restless mind and apply it with greater efficiency in the present moment! Learning and practicing meditation can set us free from unnecessary worries and enrich our perception and senses. Although various meditation traditions and techniques exist around the world, they can be roughly divided into four broad categories: concentration meditation, reflective (or insight) meditation, mindfulness meditation and creative meditation. Concentration meditation: Concentration meditation is the basis for all other kinds of mediation. Concentration is vital for overcoming distractions and maintaining mental focus. Imagine pouring water freely on a flat surface; it will instantly become a shallow patch of water that will turn stagnant in the points of depression. But if you channel this same water in one direction and keep it under pressure, it can carry tremendous power. The mind works similarly. Let it roam freely, and it will have little power, it will simply fill the available space. However, the concentrated mind can become a powerful carrier of our intentions. Through the ability to concentrate, the mind can acquire greater calm, stability and clarity so that confusion, anxiety and lack of attention become problems of the past. Further, concentration is used in the other major kinds of meditation – mindfulness, reflective, and creative. In addition, the power of concentration can be applied for developing physic abilities. Reflective Meditation: Reflective meditation can be defined as disciplined thinking. You choose an idea, situation, or question and focus your contemplation on it. When your mind wonders, you bring it back to the subject of your reflection gently but firmly. This kind of meditation is traditionally used for gaining greater insights into the nature of death, life, the meaning of life, or the question of your own mental quest, be it relationships, a scientific puzzle, or daily problems. The secret to gaining revealing insights is your ability to direct your attention repeatedly to your chosen theme and staying open to whatever arises in your mind from that experience. Mindfulness Meditation: Mindfulness is a state of awareness in the present moment, when your mind is relaxed and conscious of your experience, including thoughts and feelings, sensations and breathing, and accepts everything with an attitude of non-resistance and equanimity. Thus, you can experience everything fully without self-criticism or clinging to your personal identity and importance. The majority of our problems arise from our lack of awareness and mindless actions in our lives. The practice of mindfulness can help us improve focus and concentration, enhance the quality of our communication, manage stress, increase our efficiency and build self-confidence. Creative meditation: While concentration and mindfulness bring more focus and awareness into our lives, creative meditation helps us to transform and apply the habits of the mind with greater efficiency. Creative meditation can help us with developing and strengthening particular qualities of our nature. It can also invite more possibilities and potentials into our lives. For example, creative visualization, one of the most used methods of creative meditation, can assist us with fulfilling personal desires, such as succeeding in professional life or attracting happiness. Our subconscious mind does not discern between imaginative and real-life stimuli. Although an impression may last only seconds, the subconscious mind can trigger similar emotional, mental, and psychological reactions repeatedly. Thus, by bringing desirable emotionally charged images into our awareness we can exercise productive control over our imagination and influence the positive qualities of our mind. We all know that we can train our physical body and gradually develop stamina and flexibility by exercising regularly. The same rules are true for the mind; numerous studies have demonstrated that it is possible to develop greater intelligence, creativity, and other mental capacities. With the diligent practice of meditation, your mind will become more clear, composed and powerful, and you will be able to apply it to any task or activity with mindfulness and superior efficiency.

Us Them – Why You Should Always Dare To Dream
I remember as a child looking at the big houses and shiny, new cars in the street thinking “Wow! Those people are so lucky!”. As I grew up, I observed how much it seemed so normal to separate “us” – the middle class, from “them” – the wealthy. It never really occurred to me as a teenager to question this, but as an adult chasing my big, grandiose dreams, I have found myself eternally perplexed by the self separation that seems to happen amongst humans. Why do so many people seem to ‘wish’ for the abundance of wealth that life offers, yet never truly believe that it’s in any way possible for them? My question is… Why not? The only way that wealth is ever going to happen is to first believe it is possible. The crazy thing is, it is SO MUCH MORE POSSIBLE than most people ever really know!! I came from a middle class family, and we often (I mean really often!) struggled with money, but we always kept the dream alive. My father always had an entrepreneurial spirit and started many new business ventures, even though, unfortunately, the financial jackpot always eluded us. We had a better kind of wealth though – love and encouragement. You see, our parents always encouraged my sister and I with strong words like “You can be anything you want to be, if you want it bad enough”. So now, at 31, I own a multi-million dollar property portfolio, I quit my job several years ago for a life of freedom, I’ve married the man of my dreams, I live abroad and I frequently travel the world. So what’s the difference between me and the other middle class people who didn’t realize their dreams? Only a belief that it was possible. For instance, I would walk into a store and try on the most expensive pair of shoes I could find, even though I knew I didn’t have the money to buy them. I wanted to be comfortable with that kind of wealth, and I was also very aware of keeping my language, internal and external, positive and aligned with my dreams. Instead of looking at the shoes and immediately saying “I can’t afford those!”, I would say “I choose not to buy them, today”. Being wealthy starts with feeling wealthy. Consider all the people who didn’t feel wealthy and won the lottery… most of them squandered it all away, because even though they really wanted it, they never really felt worthy of having it. So take the time to reflect on what you’re thinking, feeling and saying (both to yourself and out loud), and decide if it’s aligned with your goals and dreams. If not, consider finding a new approach… and be sure remove the phrase “I can’t afford it” from your vocabulary! As for me, I’ve still got a long way to go, and I never want to stop growing and striving for more, (does that journey ever stop?), but these days I can see a $40 Million dollar mansion, or 180 ft Super yacht and comfortably say “that’s for me”, and know for sure that it is.
The Power Of Unselfconscious Affluence
Of course, we didn’t all grow up financially comfortable, but neither did some of the world’s richest people. Several of my most successful students are real rags to riches stories gaining their vast financial successes through single-minded perseverance, education, hard work, intention and a little luck. Their persistence, raising their set points and advancing their mindsets all were part of the mix in what eventually turned them into money magnets. Internal obstacles sometimes need to be overcome in order to advance in life and this holds true as we seek to attain an unselfconscious relationship with affluence and a super affluent clientиle. The journey from self conscious to confidence in dealing with all things relating to affluence can be highly individualized. People who grow up poor or struggling, can carry with them that feeling of scarcity no matter how wealthy they become. The father of a student of mine grew up during the depression and became an orphan at the age of thirteen. My student’s father and his feelings of guilt and shame, in addition to being accustomed to having very little from a young age, really shaped his attitude toward wealth and money. Despite being quite successful in later life, despite having several businesses and being a property owner in the very advantageous real estate market of San Francisco in the 80′s and 90′s, there was always this residual fear of scarcity which shadowed everything he did. My student had everything he could ever need as a child–a nice house, an excellent education, plenty of food and never a fear that the electricity would be turned off. His father’s experiences really framed how he viewed money, however. He, despite all his comfort in life, developed a real scarcity fear as well which in turn created a social and class self-consciousness. Unfortunately, this social self-consciousness thwarts a fluid relationship with affluence and the affluent and we should do everything we can to overcome it. Our first step in overcoming this self-consciousness is to understand that there is no shame in abundance. There is absolutely enough for all of us. Life need not be fraught with scarcity. If you are reading this, you have the ability to thrive with an abundant life. We’re here on this planet, I believe, to learn and when we redirect whatever shame and fear into a new pathway, this learning is accomplished. And once we are right with ourselves, our social confidence, no matter what income level, will skyrocket and we will be able to very naturally enter into any social or business interaction with ease even if these social or business interactions are with super affluent people. Try doing this: every morning when you wake up, before you get out of bed, tell yourself, ‘I’m a money magnet’ and see what kind of unexpected gains you receive throughout your day. It’s an amazing little exercise in faith and attraction and a truly beautiful gift you can give to yourself. Get into the flow of the energy called money.
